CASCARA Costa Rica Hacienda Sonora
What is left when the coffee cherry skin is peeled. What is called cáscara in Spanish means husk or peel. Dried coffee cherry husk. It is obtained from the coffee plant, but taste more like tea. It's all cascara.
This cascara, which tastes like cranberries, plums and dried apples, came to us all the way from Costa Rica, Central America, from the Hacienda Sonora farm, which lies at the foot of the Poás volcano. The coffee cherries were processed using a natural method, dried on raised beds, and after two months of storage they ended their journey in a dry mill, where the coffee beans were separated from the husks. And now you can also make a great drink from these husks full of flavor, caffeine and antioxidants!
